AGM and Cursillo Status Update

The 2021 Calgary Anglican Cursillo AGM will be held on Friday evening 12 February, 2021. Due to the COVID restrictions the meeting will be held as usual in place of an Ultreya and uniquely done via Zoom. Details regarding access, agenda and procedure will be sent out soon using the community email.

The chair reports will be limited since we didn’t hold any weekends and few Ultreya’s in 2020 and essentially the movement was on hold. The Treasurer’s and Lay Director’s reports will be the main feedback for your perusal and assessment. Reports will be added as they become available.

Secretariat positions that are open for nominations include the 4th Day Chair and the Pre-Cursillo Chair. Job descriptions for these roles are posted below.

Some recent announcements follow:

  • We had our first Zoom Ultreya on Jan 8. Close to 50 attended and it went well. Praise God.
  • There is a Facebook signup link to get on the list to receive Cursillo emails.
  • Due to the lack of income from Cursillo weekends in 2020 our financial buffer is diminished so we are encouraging donations if you are able. The website has a donation link for that.
  • There will be no spring 2021 weekend and we are assessing the fall weekend. By July 2021 we will make that decision.
  • Our CACS Representative for Rupert’s Land (Wendy Goodall) is stepping down so if anyone is interested in considering that position contact Wendy. Job description details will be discussed at that time.
